Songs for Suffering – Artwork – Ch.5

Chapter 5 – “I am going to get through this”

Daybreak – the Atlantic ocean after the Storm

Chapter 6 →

Amy writes:

As I read Chapter 5 and puzzled about an illustration I came upon these words:

“As we toil through the dark night of the depths of our suffering, may the truth of God’s abiding kingship be like the first ray of light of dawn breaking upon our senses.”

I remembered how dawn came over the calmer Atlantic ocean after that great storm in the Bay of Biscay on our voyage (see comments for Chapter 1). I attempted to create the scene as I remembered the relief and hope I felt that morning.

I wait for the LORD, my soul waits,
and in his word I hope;
My soul waits for the Lord,
more than those who watch for the morning,
more than those who watch for the morning.   Psalm 130:5-6.
